ROUND ROCK—Over the weekend, Rockdale High School’s Jesus Bocanegra raced at the UIL cross country state championships, where he finished 31st out of 149 runners with a time of 17:10 in Class 3A boys’ championship race.
The Tiger junior qualifi ed for Saturday’s race after placing seventh overall at regionals. Runners who finish in the top 10 places at their respective regional meet automatically qualify for state.
This was the third time that Bocanegra has competed at state and a storied season for him, winning six meets.
Milano junior Kadance Koenig also competed the day before in the Class 2A girls’ race, placing 47th out of 151 competitors with a time of 13:49.8.
