KINGSVILLE—Thorndale’s Carson McCoy sped to second-place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.71 and, in doing so, he qualified to run at the 2A state track championships, currently scheduled for May 12.
Bulldog Jack Herzog caught a ride with McCoy to Austin as he annihilated the competition in the pole vault. He cleared 15’-0”, broke his own school record set earlier this year, and won the event. His record height bested all the others by over two feet.
