Multiple Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs placed among the top 50 in their respective races during last Thursday’s Salado Tenroc Cross Country Invitational.
Thorndale runners competed against some of the most reputable cross ountry programs in Central Texas. Their competition included Liberty Hill, Gatesville, and Lorena, all schools with triple the enrollment of Thorn-dale High School.
Five Bulldogs runners placed in the top 100 at the meet. They were: 24. Mason Drumm 19:16.2; 71. Jason Penick 22:28.5; 72. Trayle Schroeder 22:30.9; 73. Evan Ivey 22:33.8 and 82. Ethan Williamson 24:49.8.
Five Lady Bulldog runners placed in the varsity girl’s race. Four of the Lady Bulldogs placed in the top 50. They were: 26. Ava Vicknair 4:05.4; 35. Ashton Kiesling 14:26.2; 43. Trew Schroeder 14:39.4; 50. Landry Laywell 15:30.3 and 55. Taije Schroeder 16:10.6.
One Lady Bulldog placed in the junior varsity race, 45. Layla Ramirez 22:06.0
The Thorndale cross country team has the week off from competition, and resumes racing on Thursday, Oct. 3, when they host their own race called the Bulldog Run. Thorndale competes at the district meet in Gause on Monday, Oct. 8.
