They Eagles are 0-3 in district play but have faced a Thrall team that is picked to take the final playoff spot, and Hearne and Thorn-dale, who battle this week for what is mostly likely the game for second place.

This week, the Eagles head north to face a Marlin team that has rebounded from winless 2018 season.

The Bulldogs are 1-2 in district and are coming off a 44-33 loss to Thrall where they got within five points of the Tigers in the final four minutes of the game before coming up short on a two-point conversion and giving up a 63-yard TD run to Thrall’s Colter Hill less than a minute later.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m., at Legion Stadium in Marlin.

THORNDALE–The Bulldogs rushed for 443 yards with Brymer leading the squad with 163 yards on 11 carries. Herzog also had a big night with 126 yards and 11 carries as well. Both backs lead Thorndale in rushing through the first eight games with Brymer having 714 yards on 95 carries and Herzog ending Friday with 566 yards on 67 carries.

With no bye-week yet, the Bulldogs have made it through two-thirds of their district schedule, having only two games left and a record of 3-1 but still have a lot to prove.

On Friday, they face Hearne in a game that is seen as the battle for second in District 13-2A-1.

Unlike the Bulldogs, Hearne had a difficult preseason facing reputable programs in Class 3A such as Franklin and only had two wins going into district.

Since then, they lost to top-ranked Holland 34-19 before beating Thrall 48-25 and Milano 36-3.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m., at Bulldog Stadium.
