THORNDALE—The 4-1 Thorndale Bulldogs, who were off last week, are making a serious road trip to the Hill Country this week to take on the Mason Punchers.
Mason is only 131.8 miles away so why not? I think someone in Austin forgot Thorndale is located in Central Texas. Their district schedule according to MaxPreps has them traveling not only to Mason but San Saba, Johnson City and Harper.
The Punchers are also a 4-1 team as district play begins.
Mason was picked to be the district champions by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine and last year they went undefeated in their district. They were 11-1 overall and were area finalists.
Kickoff will be at 7 p.m. Friday.
