The Thorndale Bulldogs beat the Thrall Tigers 41-0, for the 55th win in 88 meetings against their Highway 79 rival on Friday in Thrall.

The Dawgs’ running game dominated the Tiger defense with 415 yards. Three members of the Bulldog back field rushed for more than 100 yards - Scott Guzman 10-137, Luke Leschber 13-119 and Jagger Rubio 10-101.

Thorndale got off to a fast start when running back Leschber scored on a 20-yard touchdown run less than two minutes into the game. Michael Herzog made the PAT (point-after-touchdown) to put the Bulldogs up 7-0.

The Bulldogs got back on the board twice before the end of the first quarter. Rubio scored on a 12-yard run halfway through the first, and Scott Guzman scored his first of three touchdowns on the night with a 46-yard run. Herzog made both of the PAT’s. The Bulldogs led the Tigers 21-0 going into the second.

Guzman scored on a five-yard run with six minutes left in the half, and Herzog mad the PAT to put them up 28-0 over the 0-2 Tigers. Herzog scored his third touchdown of the season with a 34-yard run with 3:18 left in the half. After scoring his only touchdown of the game, he had his only missed PAT of the night.

At halftime the Bulldogs led 34-0.

The Bulldogs scored once more in the middle of the third quarter when Guzman ran for five yards into the end zone for the third time of the night. Herzog made his fifth PAT to put the Bulldogs ahead 41-0, which they held until the end of regulation.
