THOR N DA L E—The Thorndale Bulldogs are back! Thorndale put the bite on Hempstead last week 49-14.

Like last week the Bulldogs came out in the first quarter and showed no mercy on their opponent putting up 29 points on the scoreboard.

This week Thorndale used both the air, the ground and their defense to win the game.

Running back Noah Crabtree scored first by pushing the ball across the goal line on a two-yard dash. Kicker Kade Becker was good for the extra point and the Bulldogs were up 7-0.

Ethan Schramm then scored on a 42-yard interception return. Quarterback Gunner Ferguson scampered into the end zone for the two-point conversion and the scoreboard showed Thorndale up 15-0.

Bulldog receiver Jaxson Eschberger then caught a 56-yard pass from QB Ferguson. Becker’s kick was good and it’s 22-0.

Kade Becker then caught a 19-yard pass from Ferguson. He also made the extra point and at the end of the first quarter it was Bulldogs 29, Bobcats 0.

Thorndale’s Eschberger ran 13 yards for pay dirt and Crabtree did the same from one yard out. The Bulldog’s went 1-1 on the extra point kicks, the score at the half was 42-0. The Thorndale defense was pitching a shutout until they allowed a Hempstead touchdown in both the third and fourth quarters.

Schramm also scored again in the third which would be Thorndale’s last touchdown of the night. Ferguson connected with Schramm on a 22-yard strike and Case McDaniel made the extra point kick.

The f inal score was Bulldogs 49, Bobcats 14.

COMING UP— Thorndale is 4-1 going into district play after a bye week. The team is way ahead of last year’s Bulldog team that was winless.

Thorndale will travel to Mason on Oct. 11. The Punchers are 4-1 after their last win against 1-4 Christoval, the final score of that game was 54-13.

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football has Mason picked to finish first in District 14-2A DI.
