RIESEL—The Bulldogs are on a roll and I’m sure it does not surprise anyone. Thorndale is 2-1 after beating the 1-2 Riesel Indians on the road. The final score of this contest was Thorndale 27, Riesel 6.
Thorndale went to the air on three out of four of their touchdowns. The Bulldogs scored twice in the first quarter with this passing attack. Quarterback Gunner Ferguson hit receiver Jayden Clawson for a 51 yard reception and then hit Clawson again on a 45 yard grab. Kicker Kade Becker made both extra point kicks. The score after the first was 14-0.
Riesel scored in the second quarter on the ground with a one-yard dash into the end zone. Their extra point attempt failed. After keeping the Bulldogs quiet the score at halftime was 14-6.
Thorndale scored in the third on an 11 yard pass from quarterback Ferguson to Ethan Schramm. Kicker Becker made the extra point and the Bulldogs moved ahead 21-6.
Bulldog running back Noah Crabtree scored in the fourth after running four yards. Becker continued his streak of perfection and made the kick—game over, Thorndale wins 27-6.
STANDOUTS— Key players in this game: Gunner Ferguson, 11-18, 193 yards, three touchd owns. Jayden Clawson, six catches for 138 yards, two touchdowns. Noah Crabtree, 23 rushing attempts, 111 yards, one touchdown. Ethan Schramm, two catches for 22 yards and one touchdown.
THIS WEEK— The Bulldogs will play at Austin Achieve on Friday at 7 p.m. The Polar Bears are 0-3 for the year.
