LLANO—The Thorndale Bulldogs dominated Sonora with two shutout wins—12-0 and 9-0—to win the bi-dis-trict round of the playoffs last week.
In Game 1, Luke Merz pitched a complete game shutout with Rowdy Casner making an amazing throw from centerfield to home plate getting the out to preserve the shutout.
Merz, Tyler Turman and Coy Stutts all had multiple hits.
Game 2 was more of the same as the Bulldogs beat down the Broncos.
This time is was Gunner Ferguson’s turn on the mound where he also got a complete game shutout.
Turman once again had multiple hits, along with teammate Kaden Kovar.
THIS WEEK— Thorndale w ill t ake o n a t ough Burton Panthers team in the area round beginning this Thursday at a neutral site that has not been released at the time this story was written.
