Thorndale set to face Riesel in bi-district action

THORNDALE—Thorndale ended their regular season with a big win over Holland. The final score was 18-13.

Running back Noah Crabtree scored the Bulldogs’ first touchdown by scooting in from four yards out. The extra point failed but Thorndale had the lead 6-0.

Jayden Clawson then ran 14 yards to the end zone and again the Bulldogs missed the extra point. The score was 12-0 at halftime.

The Bulldog defense was pitching a shutout until the third quarter. The Hornets finally got some offense going and scored seven in the third.

Thorndale matched the Hornets with their third and final touchdown for the night. Crabtree scored his second touchdown from just two yards out and, for the third time during the night, Thorndale’s point after attempt was missed.

The Bulldogs gave up one more touchdown in the fourth quarter. Holland’s kick failed and Thorndale went home the winner 18-13.

The Bulldogs closed out the season at 3-2 in district and 7-3 overall. This was good enough for third place and qualified them for a playoff spot.

THIS WEEK— Thorndale will now face the Riesel Indians in a bi-district game at 7 p.m. Friday at Jarrell’s Cougar Field. The Indians finished 4-1 in their district and were 5-5 overall.

Let’s go Bulldogs!
