Thorndale will play Snook High School in a bi-district playoff game with the time and place to be announced.

“We will get second place in district,” said Coach John Kovar. “We are healthy for the first time in about a month. I hope we stay that way. We are going into the playoffs with a lot of confidence.”

The Bulldogs are ranked 14th in the Texas High School Coaches Association rankings with 22-8 overall record and 9-3 in District 25-2A.

Thorndale finished its season last Friday at home with a 43-39 loss to Hearne. It was the team’s second loss to the Eagles, who finished first in district and was ranked number three in the coaches poll.

“We took care of the ball better the second game. We also played harder,” said Coach John Kovar. “Our kids gave great effort. We just have to shoot free throws better and hit a few more shots.”

Snook played its final district game against North Zulch on Tuesday and results were unavailable at press time. The Bluejays went into Tuesday’s District 26-2A matchup with a 8-21 record and 5-4 in district.

MILANO – Milano finished its season Tuesday night on the road in Holland. For results see next week’s Reporter. The Eagles lost 65-49 to Thrall on the road last Friday.
