After a frustrating loss to top-ranked Holland a week earlier, the Bulldogs made up for it with 36-13 win over rival Thrall, defeating the Tigers for the 56th time in school history.

“The Thrall game is always a good one to win,” said Scott Hawkins, THS football coach and athletic director. “It is going to be a good game no matter what our records are.

“But they’re going to be a playoff team this year and I knew we had to be ready for a tough game.”

The Bulldogs were able to take advantage of Thrall penalties early in the game which led Cain Brymer scoring on a two-yard run.

Brymer scored from the goal line once again in the second and Mason Lindig scored on a 19-yard in the fina lnute efore haoftlpe to give the Milam County THS a 20-0 lead.

Colt Cauble scored on a 39-yard run in the third before Thrall’s Cayden Watson scored on a 34-yard pass from Colter Hill a minute later. Thorndale led 26-6 at the close of the third.

Stryker Leschber added two points for the ‘ Dawgs with a safety in the fourth and Cauble scored a minute later on 15-yard run. Thrall’s Tyreke Irvin scored the fina W of the jape on a one-yard run towards the end of the fourth to create the fina sfore of 69-461

Thorndale had 280 total offensive yards all on the ground. Michael Herzog led the pack with 104 yards on 20 carries. Cauble had eight carries for 73 yards and Lin-dig had 12 carries for 65 yards.

MILANO– The Bulldogs head east of Rockdale this weekend to play the Milano Eagles, a team they’ve defeated three times in their last four meetings.

“Milano is much better than their record,” Hawkins said. “They still have really good team speed and play a full four quarters of football.

“We must focus on the now and have to be ready for anything they throw at us.”

Kickoff is in Milano at 7:30 p.m.
