THS came out on top 58-57 in Little River-Academy on Monday night.

The Bumblebees were ahead for much of the game leading 18-15 in the first and by five at the half.

The Bulldogs stayed one step ahead outscoring AHS 13-11 in the third to cut the game to three and taking the lead in the fourth to win by one.

Individual stats were not made available as of press time.

TEMPLE–The ‘Dawgs beat Central Texas Christian 49-28 Tuesday with six guys. THS won 49-28 outscoring CTC 32-16 in the last three quarters.

Senior Kolby Neumeyer led with 17 points. Garrett Bernsteiin and Logan Davis each had eight.

Ty Kovar and Dean Johnson scored six apiece and Chance Betak had four.

THIS WEEK–The Bulldogs played in Jewett-Leon on Tuesday afternoon after press time.

Thorndale plays next in their home opener on Tuesday, Dec. 3, against Calvert.

JV Maroon will start at 5 p.m., and the varsity will follow around 6:30.

LADY BULLDOGS–

Thorndale’s girls’ basketball team was at the Lady Yoe Tournament in Cameron this weekend.

They started off hot beating host Cameron 47-32 before losing to 43-39 to Waco La Vega.

The Lady Bulldogs were scheduled to play Smithville later that afternoon but forfeited due to Thorndale football playing in the area finals later in the day.

On Saturday, they lost to neighbor Rockdale 46-43 in a neck-and-neck game.

Thorndale plays next at home on Tuesday, Dec. 3, against Troy.

Varsity tipoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
