After sweeping through the competition, Thorndale was named champion of their own tournament on Saturday following their win over the Cameron Yoemen 60-52.

Three Bulldogs ended the game with double-digit scoring.

Kolby Neumeyer led the way with 21.

Sophomores Chance Betak and Logan Davis had 11 and 10.

THS started the tourney with a battle beating Georgetown Gateway Thursday 61-53 in an overtime win where Thorndale didn’t allow a single point in post-regulation play.

Later that day, they got hot in the second quarter with a 20-4 run on Caldwell which resulted in a 43-29 victory for the ‘Dawgs.

On Friday, they had another double-digit win when they defeated Bryan’s Brazos Christian School 65-43.

Thorndale’s third victory in large part to another fiery run when they outscored the Eagles 21-6 in the second quarter.

THIS WEEK–The Bulldogs face Smithville on Tuesday after press time.

They play next on Thursday against Halletsville’s Sacred Heart.

Tip-off is at 2:30 p.m., in Halletsville.

LADY BULLDOGS–

Unlike most area teams, the Lady Bulldogs didn’t play in a tournament.

They stayed home Friday where they lost to Buffalo 38-29.

Savanna Taylor and Riley Calk led THS with 10 each and Kiera Rash had six.

Kelsey Kovar had two and Ashley Pesl had one.

THIS WEEK–Thorn-dale opens district play against Hearne after press time on Tuesday.

They play next at the Thorndale Shootout over the holidays.
