Rockdale High School Class of 2015 graduate and former Texas A&M University basketball player Wendell “Chuck” Mitchell Jr. (pictured) held a basketball camp last week at his alma mater’s gymnasium.
Mitchell held camps for four different age groups and, according to his mother Sharee Mitchell, approximately 40 kids attended throughout the three days it was held at RHS.
The Rockdale native has received a lot of praise on social media for holding a camp in the community.
“Super appreciative to him for taking the time to come work with Rockdale’s future athletes,” former RHS volleyball coach Jennifer Keen said on Facebook.
Mitchell, who played professionally this past year, signed with Egis Kormend (Hungary) last week.
