The Rockdale Tiger basketball team is in quarantine after a player was found to have COVID-19 on Tuesday. So the team will be out of action the until at least the third week of December, the coach said.
The struggling program came up short in its two contest this past week. To add insult to injury, the group found out it will be out of action for the next few weeks.
On Friday, the Tigers traveled to Waco to face the Meyer Ravens. The young men fought hard, but came up short 71-55. Braden Thomas was the top scorer for the Tigers with 20 points. Other scorers included Anthony Dansby 10, Robert Owens 9 and Colton Bradshaw 8.
On Saturday, the Tigers went into battle with the Mumford Mustangs. Things didn’t go the Tiger’s way as they were defeated 108-53. Thomas again led the team in scoring with 15 points. Other scores included: Bradshaw 11, Raymond McBride 8, Chris Perez 7 and Owens 6.
Tuesday’s game against Thorndale was canceled as the team announced that they will be under quarantine due to COVID-19.
The Tigers will be able to resume play on Dec. 22 at Cameron.
