Thorndale Bulldog baseball has breezed their way through district competition, outscoring opponents 103-2 in their first seven games. As a result, the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association has THS ranked sixth in their latest Class 2A poll.
Their most recent victory was a 19-0 blowout over Rosebud-Lott on the road. Concordia signee Logan Davis hit his third home run of the season during their outing in Falls County.
THIS WEEK—Thorndale hosted the Cougars on Tuesday after press time and are off Friday. The Bulldogs return to action this upcoming Tuesday to host Bartlett. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
LADY DOGS—Taking a break from district play, Lady Dog softball traveled 95 miles on Friday to face Hallettsville’s Sacred Heart Catholic School, who they shutout 16-0.
THS freshman Karis Ginn led the way from the circle with five strikeouts. She has thrown 75 strikeouts this season.
Top offensive players were Emilee Baker, Natalie Garcia, Kelsey Kovar and Raeghan Carlson, who hit her fourth home run of the season Friday night.
THIS WEEK—T h e undefeated Lady Dogs beat rival Thrall Tuesday after press time, 9-2 and travel to Milano on Saturday.
