Dickerson named Setter of the Year

District 25-2A volleyball coaches released their picks last week with Thorndale junior Abby Dickerson being named Setter of the Year, while her classmate Landri Martinka was voted as the Defensive Most Valuable Player.

Other award winners for the Lady Dogs were Kinley Meadors, Natalie Newton and Kyndal Robinson, who were voted on to the first team, while Makayla Lafferty was a pick for the second team.

Honorable mentions were senior Saryn Peel and sophomore Emily Reeves.

MILANO—Aaliyah McBrewer and Peyton Robertson were picked for the second team.

Senior Karyme Santana was selected to the Texas High School Coaches Association’s Academic All-State first team.
