  • Milano’s Mason Cornelius (L) was the Eagles lone qualifier for area competition. He was district champ in the 300 hurdles and placed third in the 110 hurdles. Thorndale’s Raven Sandoval (center) and Jamie Llanas (R) were district champs in three events each and will advance to the area track meet. Sandoval was first for the girls in the 800, 1600 and 3200 runs, while Llanas was first in the same three events for the boys.

    GRANGER—District 27-2A track and field teams met in Granger last week to determine the best in the district.

    Teams competing were Milano, Thorndale, Bartlett, Granger, Holland, McDade and Rosebud-Lott.
