Thorndale High School tennis concluded their district tournament in Thrall with a team championship and nine of their members earning a trip to play at the regional tournament.
THS senior Chloe Grimm won gold in the girls singles division, beating teammate Kaylee Beason in the finals 6-3,7-5. Beason will also represent Thorndale in Corpus Christi this upcoming Monday.
A similar thing happened in the boys doubles division where Alex Inocencio and Torben Lerch won gold over fellow Bulldogs Chance Betak and Dereck Cauble, 7-5, 7-5.
Stryker Leschber and Saryn Peel placed second in mixed doubles and Maddox Rubio earned silver in the boys singles division.
THS also had five third place finishers with Kyndal Robinson and Abby Dickerson getting bronze in the girls doubles division and Wylie Barrett picking up third in the boys singles division. Jessica Yount and Landin Ellington also placed third in the mixed doubles divsion. All five will make the trip to regionals as alternates. Submitted photo
