This past week, all-district selections for Rockdale, Milano and Thorndale girls basketball teams were named with Lady Tiger Julie Bartsch being picked for District 19-3A.
Second team selections for RHS were Karli Marburger, Ciara Miles and Saige Robertson, while Mijah Crawford, T’Niyah Miles and Breanna Webb were selected as honorable mentions.
Bartsch, Robertson, Marburger, Crawford, and both Miles girls were academic all-district selections along with Macy McDaniel, Kyra Miles and Alyssa Thompson.
District 27-2A—For Milano, Aalyiah McBrewer and Natalie Compton were named to the first team with teammate Laynie Rose being picked for the second team.
Kadance Koenig, Montgomery Popham, and Malinda Gordon were honorable mentions. Academic picks were Compton, Popham and Mallory Miller.
Thorndale Lady Dog Makayla Lafferty was named the district’s most valuable player and teammate Kinley Meadors earned the sixth man of the year award.
Abby Dickerson, Kelsey Kovar, Kyndal Robinson and Bailee Baker were picked for the first team and Kassidy Eubanks was picked for the second team. Hadley Meadors was an honorable mention.
Thorndale’s academic all-district picks were Kovar, Lafferty, Dickerson, Baker, Robinson, Eubanks, both Meadors girls and Morgan Rabel.
