Milano’s Lady Eagle softball team finally made their 2021 season debut on Monday evening when they went head-to-head with neighbor Rockdale last Monday.
MHS fell 13-10 but outhit the other school from Milam County 12 to 10 with three of those hits coming from freshman Toni Meyer in her high school debut.
Molly Ybarra, Karyme Santana and Natalie Compton also had two hits and Laynie Rose, Zoe Clore and Emma Davenport each had one.
Meyer struck out eight in six innings pitched.
THIS WEEK—The Lady Eagles started district play on Tuesday after press time in Holland and have Friday off.
They return to the field on Tuesday to host Granger.
First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
The Eagles opened their season on Tuesday in Fayetteville and host Somerville Friday at 4 p.m.
