In their first District 19-3A contest, the Lady Tigers came up short to neighbor Lexington in a 21-25, 22-25, 22-25 match at the RHS gymnasium on Friday.
“I’m proud of the fight we had,” said Kelsey Hudson, Rockdale volleyball coach. “I thought we played pretty well but we just came up short in each set.
“We need to finish in those tight situations.
TUESDAY–On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers won their final non-district matchup defeating Moody 25-18, 25-23, 25-21.
THIS WEEK–The ladies in blue played Franklin on Tuesday after press time.
They play next at 4:#0 p.m., Friday in Cameron for Rockdale’s first Bell rivalry contest of the school year.
The Lady Yoe are 0-1 in district play after losing to 2018 state tourney finalist Troy 25-18, 26-24, 25-11 Friday evening on the road.
Rockdale beat the Lady Yoe twice last year first with a five-set tiebreaker in Cameron on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018. RHS won 15-25, 25-23, 25-14, 20-25, 18-16 in a match then Rockdale coach Jennifer Keen described as a game that gave her “gray hairs”.
The Lady Tigers won the second matchup on Tuesday, Oct. 9, in four sets.
