Set to host Waco Reicher in Friday’s season opener
MILANO—The Milano Eagles hosted a well coached Thrall Tigers team last week. This matchup included a controlled- scrimmage as well as a live half. The Tigers prevailed 2-1.
The Eagles started slow and struggled with ball security but they found their rhythm of physical play in the live half.
Milano Head Coach Nick Morehead expressed his confidence in both the offensive and defensive lines.
“These guys played hard,” he said. “We had outstanding play from Jason Avalos. Jason had two interceptions, both in the live half of the scrimmage.”
Other outstanding Eagles were offensive tackle Greg Storey, fullback Andres Ruelas and tight end Gerald Dykes.
THIS WEEK— This Friday the Eagles will host Waco’s Reicher Catholic High School at 7 p.m. for their season opener.
The key to winning, according to Coach Morehead, will be “controlling the clock, getting the snap and winning the battle on both the offensive and defensive lines.”
