This past Thursday, the Eagles went out west to play Thrall in their final scrimmage of the year.
MHS opens their season on Friday in Waco, when they travel north to face Reicher Catholic School.
The Cougars made it it to the third round of the TAPPS Division III playoffs last year despite finishing sixth in district play.
Tyler Ward, who rushed for 683 yards at running back and made 66 tackles at linebacker last season, is the team’s most touted player.
