Milano’s post-season hopes came to an end this past Friday with a 34-16 loss to Snook on the road.
The Blue Jays took an early 16-0 lead before MHS junior Ethan Gordon pushed through the line to score a one-yard touchdown.
A successful two-point conversion put the Eagles within eight points of SHS with about three minutes left in the half.
However, Snook’s Jose Garcia was able to extend his team’s lead on a fiveyard TD run with less than a minute before halftime to make it 22-8.
Gordon scored again late in the fourth on a three-yard run followed by another successful twopoint conversion thanks to Josh Millar but it wasn’t enough as Snook held on to win.
SEASON— MHS finishes 2021 with a fifth place finish and 2-4 record in District 13-2A-II with wins over Iola, 33-22 and Bartlett, 33-16.
The young Eagle team also picked up two victories in non-district play, beating Bremond 34-24 on Sept. 10 and Huntsville’s Alpha Omega Academy, 13-3, on a week before their second win.
