Friday night ended with the Eagles getting their second victory of the year and first home win of the season, taking down Bremond 34-24 in large part to a dominant first half .

In the first quarter, Andres Ruelas broke two tackles to make his way up the right side of the end zone to give Milano an early lead. Ruelas also made the extra point immediately following the TD.

Although Bremond answered back later in the quarter to make it 7-6, Milano scored 20 points in the second with touchdowns from sophomore Alan Maldonado, Ethan Gordon and Ruelas.

Bremond scored twice in the second on a Braylon Wortham kickoff return and later on thanks to a Wortham pass to Logan Burnett, but Milano went into the half up 27-18.

The Tigers scored once more but Gordon scored another rushing touchdown to give the Eagles a 2-1 record.

STATS–Both Ruelas and Gordon had more than 100 yards on the night with Ruelas finishing up with 152 on 16 carries and the junior Gordon wrapping up the night with 109 on 20 carries. THORNDALE–Milano

THORNDALE–Milano stays at home for the second straight week and hosts Milam County neighbor Thorndale for the 24th time since 1932.

Even though the Bulldogs are coming off a 42-28 loss to Centerville this past week, the Bulldogs are 2-1 under second year coach John Kovar who has brought passing back to Thorndale after the Bulldogs had five seasons from 2015-2020 of running the Slot-T.

Kovar has a team that features defensive end Stryker Leschber, who has multiple Division I offers, and junior quarterback Coy Stutts. Game time is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
