The Milano Eagles hosted Waco’s Reicher Catholic High School on Friday night and came away with a significant win against the private school. The final score was 63-6.
“We were able to capitalize on this young team, our offensive line dominated,” said Milano Head Football Coach Nick Morehead.
The Eagles had seven different running backs score along with a 30-yard pass recept ion that resulted in a touchdown when junior quarterback Breyton Steinbecker connected with sophomore tight end Jackson Reyes.
Sophomore running back and defensive back Peyton Steinbecker suffered an injury during the game breaking his collarbone and will be out eight weeks. The Eagles received excellent play from junior linebacker Anthony Valdez, senior defensive back Cole Dyer, the entire offensive line gets an A-plus grade, they were led by senior Greg Storey, junior William Mears and junior tight end Gerald Dykes.
Lead running back junior Andres Ruelas had three carries and went 7 for 7 on extra points.
The 1-0 Eagles are off this week.
