MILANO—The Milano Eagles lost to Iola last week 35-14. The Eagles are now 1-3 and 0-1 in district.
“We missed an opportunity early in the game to go up 14-0,” said Head Football Coach Nick Morehead. “We were on the goal line but a penalty pushed us back and then we turned the ball over on a fumble and we just lost momentum.”
Milano started off redhot last year and then struggled as they got deeper into their schedule. We hope the Eagles can shake off this tough loss and make a run towards the playoffs.
STANDOUT— Gerald Dykes was a key player in the game with 166 yards rushing.
THIS WEEK— The Eagles continue with district play Friday against Granger. The Lions are 2-2, 1-0 in district, and are coming off a decisive 43-23 win against Bartlett. Kick off is at 7 p.m.
