In the last week of June, former RHS coach and Caldwell native Lewis Edmonson was named as an inductee for the Prairie View A&M University Sports Hall of Fame.
While on the Panther track and field team, Edmson set a school record in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.53 in 2001 and was also a part of a record-setting sprint relay team. He won conference championships in numerous events and competed professionally with Team USA Nike High Performance for seven years.
Edmonson, now a coach and administrator at Hearne, will be honored in a ceremony and banquet on Nov. 4.
The former Tiger coach also worked on Jeff Miller’s staff during Rockdale’s state championship season.
He is the son of Veronica and Lewis Edmonson of Caldwell and grandson of the late Harry Daniels, a former CISD administrator.
