The cold front which pushed in on Sept. 25-26 turned the topwater white bass bite on.

Each day this week has seen about 2.25 hours of solid topwater action. Successful anglers will work to quickly identify the size of shad the fish are feeding on and throw artificial baits to match. Lures which are too large will typically be ignored.

Af ter the topwater dies, downrigging for scattered, submerged schools of white bass has continued to produce fish through about 11 a.m.

Granger

Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits fished around structure.

Crappie are good on Slab City Micro Jigs t ipped with Berk ley Crappie Nibbles.

White bass are good on slab spoons fished over humps in 10-15 feet of water.

Blue catfish are good drifting cut shad in 5-20 feet of water. Yellow catfish are fair on live bait.

Somerville

FAIR. Stained; 83 degrees; 5.26 feet below.

Navigate with caution as unseen obstacles are surfacing as the water levels decline.

Catfish, crappie, and bluegill are fair on minnows and worms at Somerville Marina early morning and late evening.

Black bass are fair, hitting slow moving jigs and plast ics on 6-10 feet drop-offs and rocky points.

Crappie are fair in 8-18 feet of water on main lake brush piles with minnows or various jig colors.

Catfish are fair in the early morning in 6-12 feet of water. Lots of smaller fish mixed in.

Hybrid bass are fair, scattered in deeper water.

White bass are slow trolling pet spoons or shad and pencil minnows in 6-10 feet of water.
