Over the weekend, the RHS powerlifting teams’ competed in their first meet of the season and came home satisfied.

Sophomore Bryce Flowers won first place in the boys’ 148 pound weight class and senior Jesenia Navarro also got the top prize in the girls’ 114 pound division. Navarro was also named Small-Platform Lifter of the Meet

RHS head coach Ryan Montalvo said that it’s also likely that Navarro will qualify for regionals when they lift at Killeen Ellison on Thursday.

RESULTS—Flowers squatted 405, with a bench press of 225, a dead lift of 445 for a total of 1,075. 3rd, 198, Daniel Gardiner 440, 225, 420 = 1,085.

For the girls, Navarro 255, 105, 255 = 615. Lisbett Boussart 225, 115, 235 = 575.
