Former Rockdale football star Jaquayln Crawford found a new home.

Despite being the No. 9 rated athlete in the 2018 class by 247sports.com, a college recruiting website, Crawford saw little playing time as a cornerback for the Sooners. He was recruited to play wide receiver at Oklahoma, but coaches saw him as a strong option on defense. Crawford chose the University of Oklahoma over other powerhouse programs such as Florida, Georgia, Texas and Notre Dame.

Crawford will have to sit out for the 2020 season but will have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2021.

The Razorback’s new coach Sam Pittman has been loading his roster with wide receivers. With Crawford in the lineup the Razorbacks now have 10 wide receivers. Arkansas hasn’t won a game in SEC play since 2017.

Crawford was a four-star recruit that included a state championship season with the Tigers in 2017, in which he won the defensive player of the game in the state championship game. Crawford amassed several RHS school records during his time in Rockdale.

He holds the RHS all -time career touchdown record for the Tigers with 58.

As a wide receiver for the Tigers, Crawford ranks third in career high receiving yards with 1,770, while Pearce Loth holds the record with 2,657.

He recorded 4,145 all-purpose yards and 58 touchdowns during his career. He also recorded seven career interceptions on defense and holds the all-time RHS record for most interceptions in a game with two.

Crawford earned the District 10-3A-I Overall MVP as a junior in 2016. In 2015, he earned District 10-3A-I Offensive Newcomer of the Year as a sophomore and was a second-team all-district selection at cornerback.
