Jessica Flores’s first hit of the season was also a game winner when she hit a single to bring in Allyson Whited to give Rock-dale JV a 7-6 win over the varsity on Friday night at Lady Tiger Field.
Winning pitcher Brande Breithaupt was on the mound for all seven innings with one strikeout.
For the varsity, freshman Grace Avrin pitched three innings giving up two hits while sophomore Haven Jimenez struck out three and allowed three hits in 3.1 innings.
Although they lost, the varsity had a good night at the plate. Jimenez and junior Mariana Casarez each went three-for-four with Jimenez hitting the game’s only double.
Jena Locklin and Mackenzie Musto had two hits and Salome Cardona also had two for the JV.
THIS WEEK–RHS traveled to Taylor for their first official game on Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers play host to Thrall in their first official game of the season on Thursday.
First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m.
