Golf Coach Ethan Noel took five players to the Hutto Golf Tournament last week, where 30 teams competed at the par 71 Star Ranch Golf Course.
“The Rockdale Boys went to Star Ranch with three golfers,” said Noel, whose team rosters are changing because of basketball season ending. “Ross Loth shot an 82 to tie for 22nd out of 131 golfers. Jake Hasselbach shot 95 and Brayden Burns shot 99.”
The girls only got in nine holes on the course because of the weather. Whitley shot 45 and Maddy shot 61. Both played well for the conditions, according to Noel.
Boys and girls golf teams will host the Rockdale Invitational at the Rockdale Country Club on Wednesday and Thursday respectively .
“For the Rockdale Invitational, I just want to see everyone compete and play well and show improvement from this last tournament,” he said. “There will be nine teams at our tournament and it is a shotgun start at 9 a.m.”
Both teams will be in Salado, Bastrop and Brenham before their respective district tournaments in College Station on March 30.
The boys schedule is: Salado, March 2; Bastrop March 10 and Brenham March 16. The girls play: Salado March 4; Bastrop March 10 and Brenham March 19.
