Ninety-two golfers teed up for the 10th annual David Green Milam County Brown Santa Golf Tournament last Saturday.

The Jack Hillard Distributor team won first place. Team members were: Dan Foster, Biff Harris, Stockton Kruse, Monroe Fuchs, Gary Thweatt and Mike Baca.

Team Little River Materials made up of Mike Fulton, Keith Kuzel, Kaden Kuzel, Brian Hand and Carson Scitern took second.

Nathan Fuchs, John Marek, Pete Magre, Trey Young and Jayce Rasberry of Team Ideal Poultry came in third.

Cliff Cryer won the longest drive and Keith Kuzel got closet to pin, while Chase Rathke was awarded most accurate.

The tournament hosted by the Milam County Sheriff’s Office is named after Sheriff David Green who in 2009 created the vision for the Brown Santa program. His plan was to collect donations and money so that gifts and toys could be provided to the children of Milam County who would not otherwise get to experience a Christmas with toys on Christmas morning.

Since then, thousands of children have received toys throughout the 11 years the program has operated.

Live auction winners were: 10th annual Commemorative Badge Display, $1,100 winning bid by Little River Material / Classic Bank; Texas A &M Football, $1,000 winning bid by Little River Material / Milam County Livestock Exchange.

Prize drawing donation winners: David Harwell, Texas A &M helmet; Brandon Kirk, exotic hunt; Gil Roman, thermal hog hunt; Bill Behler, smoker; Kyle Kruse, Yeti cooler.
