Hasselbach named athlete of the year

Rockdale alum Annie Hasselbach was named one of two recipients from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for the American Southwest Conference Scholar-Athlete Medal of Honor.

Hasselbach was chosen for the award due to being named a WGCA All-American Scholar-Athlete all four of her seasons golfing at UMHB and an ASC Academic All-Conference selection three times.

She finishes her career appearing in two NCAA Div. III National Championships.

Hasselbach is a 2017 graduate of RHS, where she was class valedictorian and went to the golf state tourney three times as a Lady Tiger.

Now a college graduate, she starts teaching fourth grade at Tarver Elementary in Belton this fall. She is the daughter of Brent and Leslie Hasselbach of Rockdale.
