The Thorndale Bulldogs defeated the Rock-dale Tigers 66-36 in their final pre-district game on Friday.

“I thought we played hard,” said John Kovar, THS boy’s head basketball coach. “We moved around on defense really well.”

The Bulldogs took over in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 30-9. Sam Reaves was the team’s leading scorer with 28 points, and Kolby Neumeyer was also a force for the ‘Dawgs with 10.

“I felt like we made too many careless mistakes that we shouldn’t make,” Kovar said. “But overall, I liked our effort and the energy we played with.”

The Bulldogs lost 58-52 to Weimar on Tuesday, Dec. 11.

Michael Herzog led the team in scoring with 15 points. Reaves had a season low of 13 points, and Evan Ivy had 10.

The Bulldogs will play their other Highway 79 rival Thrall, on Tuesday and on Friday at 7:45 p.m. take on Holland in a road game.
