In what was a game of streaks, the Rockdale Lady Tigers had theirs at the wrong time, as Rogers took over late in the fourth quarter to build a 10-point lead before ultimately taking down Rockdale last Tuesday night in Milam County, 49-45.
The winner of the game al so decided who the fourth and f inal playof f representative would be. Although it wasn’t an ideal end to the season for first-year coach Danielle Froggatt, she had nothing but praise for her squad.
“I mean, they left it all out there, the girls played hard,” Frogatt said. “That’s what they’ve been doing all season.
“It wasn’t like we were run off the court, Rogers just had the better game that night.”
RHS junior Ciara Miles scored 31 of the team’s 45 points. The Blueand- Gold end their season with a district record of 7-7 and a fifth place finish. This was the final high basketball game for seniors Mijah Crawford, Alyssa Thompson and Saige Robertson.
Returning for the Lady Tigers next season are Miles, Grace Patton, T’Niyah Miles, Trinity Hurd, Jazalle Dunn and Ali Lay.
