Impressive performances turned in by JV athletes

LEXINGTON—At the Lexington Eagle Relays on March 30, Rockdale High School had a few standout junior varsity performances.

On the boys’ side, Zeke Castro finished first overall in the long jump with an impressive distance of 18’8”, almost a full 6 inches farther than the second-place finisher from Thrall, Braylon Hernandez.

Zeke’s teammate, Juan Salcedo finished in fourth with a jump of 17’11-1/2”.

Distance running is where the JV Lady Tigers shined, taking first and s e cond plac e s in the 3200-meter run. Daniela Bocanegra’s winning time was a full minute better than the rest of the field at 15:03.17.

Second place went to fellow Lady Tiger Lucy Grivas with a time of 16:04.65.
