The Rockdale JV Gold team continued its dominance last week as they demolished the Belton JV team 53-6. The JV Gold are now 3-0 on the season.
The demolition started with quarterback Blaydn Barcak scoring a 17-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
In the second quarter, Barcak continued to dominate the game with a 45-yard pass to Wyatt Windham. This put the Tigers in great field position to set up a fiveyard touchdown run by Barcak.
Later in the quarter, Barcak showed his arm strength with a 15-yard touchdown pass to Gerren Marrero. The extra point was no good. Barcak struck again with a 52-yard and an eight-yard touchdown pass to Windham. By the end of the first half the scoreboard read 32-0.
In the second half, the Rockdale running game took command. Riley Spears got on the board with a 30-yard run for a touchdown. Deeper into the third quarter, Dominique Clark gashed the Eagles with bruising runs as one Belton defender could not take him down. He capped off the drive with a 15-yard touchdown. Clark scored a 3-yard touchdown to end the day for the Tigers. Belton scored in the last two minutes of the game to earn a moral milestone.
Offensive standouts included: Noah Pastrano, Miles Grear, Sterling Prazak, Kemar Spencer and Mason Willard. Defensive standouts included: Isaiah Saults, Austin Goodman, Riley Spears, Carson Eoff, Clark, Barcak and Windham.
JV BLUE—A defensive struggle ensued as the JV Blue team tied the Lexington JV team by a score of 0-0. The JV Blue are now 0-1-2 on the season.
Both teams came close to scoring, but defense prevailed. Key moments for the team were the two stops by the defense at the end of the second half. The Lexington offense was in the red zone and primed to score. The Eagles fumbled the ball and RHS Aiden Hirt recovered it in the end zone for a touch back.
With the Eagles threatening to score in the red zone again with a minute left in the second quarter, the Tiger defense held their ground and got a sack to end the half.
Offensive standouts included: Cedric Mitchell and Stewart Aboytes. Defensive standouts included: Colton Wallace, Landon Pounders, Luke Dafler and Chris Huff.
