While some people spent their weekend in a tropical paradise or at a nice resort in the mountains, Milano’s Kyle King was near the swamplands of Thibodaux, Louisiana, helping mentor young quarterbacks at the Manning Passing Academy.
The camp, which is run by Super Bowl winners Peyton and Eli Manning, took place this past weekend in the Bayou State.
“Peyton Manning has been my favorite quarterback since I was born,” King told Darby Brown of KWTX. “I had a fathead of Peyton Manning in my room (as a kid). So, this is surreal.”
The Milam County native had the opportunity to work alongside Alabama’s Bryce Young and Georgia’s Stetson Bennett, who faced each other in the College Football Playoff National Championship game this past January.
King, a MHS Class 0f 2018 graduate, played an instrumental role in leading his University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Crusaders to a Division III national championship in December.
