BELTON – The Thorn-dale Lady Bulldogs’ season came to an end on Tuesday evening at Belton High School with a 47-22 loss to San Saba, the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ eight ranked team in Class 2A.
This was the final game for seniors Elise Biar and Jordyn Smith, who led THS with 11 and three points. Kiera Rash also had three points. Madi Smith and Ariana Anders each had two while Ashley Pesl score one point.
On Friday, the 15th ranked Thorndale Lady Bulldogs defeated Harper 39-33.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead, going up 13-7 at the close of the opening quarter.
The Lady Horns jumped back in the second quarter, cutting the game to 19-15 at halftime.
Harper took their first lead of the game in the third quarter, while the Lady Bulldogs found their rhythm again in the fourth and were able to take back the game and win 39-33.
BULLDOGS—The boys opened the bi-district round with a 80-44 win over the Burton Panthers on Tuesday night at Giddings High School.
Leading scorers were Sam Reaves with 33 and Kolby Neumeyer with 24. The Bulldogs are scheduled to play in the area round against San Antonio Stacey. Time and place weren’t decided as of press time.
