The Lady Eagles improved their district record to 3-1 on Saturday, Sept. 15, beating the Mumford Lady Mustangs 25-15, 23-25, 25-9, 25-15 in Milano.
The Eagles played a great third set after losing the second set 23-25 and were lead at the net by the Robertson sisters. Senior Sterling had 11 kills and freshman McKenna had 17.
Abby Miller also had five kills in the Lady Eagles Saturday afternoon victory.
Thorndale had a lot of help from senior Laynie Bastow, who had 22 assists, and junior Danni Shaw, with 14 assists. The Eagles were solid on the ground as well. Junior Abi Olson, Sterling Robertson, and Bastow all had nine digs.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Eagles got their first loss in district play against the Thrall Tigerettes, 23-25, 23-25, 12-25.
Milano had great play from Bastow, who had four blocks, eight assists, five kills, and six digs.
The Tigerettes are undefeated in district play and beat the Thorndale Lady Bulldogs in a similar fashion, 19-25, 20-25, 23-25 on Saturday, Sept. 8.
The Lady Eagles play in their next match against Thorndale on Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1p.m. in Milano.
