The Lady Eagles got their first district 25-2A win on Friday against the Holland Lady Hornets 46-36.

The contest was close early on with Milano, 1-1 in district and 6-12 overall, leading 19-16 at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Eagles outscored the Lady Hornets 9-3 to have a 28-19 lead going into halftime, which they held in the second half to win the game. The girl’s were led by Kristian Taylor with 17 points, and McKenna Robertson with 12. Hannah Batten and Sterling Robertson were also impactful on offense with seven and six points.

Earlier in the week, the Lady Eagles started district play with a 37-29 home loss to Thrall.

The game was neck-and-neck with both teams tied or within two points of each other at the end of the first three quarters. Thrall led 26-25 going into the fourth quarter and outscored the Lady Eagles 11-4 to win 37-29. Sterling was the leading scorer with 12 points. Taylor had five points, and Abby Miller and Sage LoBue both had four points, respectively.

The Lady Eagles hosted the Granger Lady Lions on Tuesday, and face neighbor Mumford on Friday in their last district game until January.
