EAGLES — The Eagles lost to Mumford 67-53 on Friday, marking their fourth loss in their last five games.

“We felt we could’ve won a couple more of the games we’ve lost,” said Kyle Edwards, MHS boy’s head basketball coach. “But injuries have plagued us throughout the season, and especially district play.”

Thurman scored a season high 25 points. Hayden Weaver had 10, Layne Telg had eight and Mason Westbrook had six.

Earlier in the week, MHS lost another hard-fought game with Granger 49-44. Thurman had 17, Cordell Spears had 10, Telg had eight, Arthur Soto had six and Westbrook had three.

Milano is 2-6 in District 25-2A with four more games to play. The Eagles play on the road against Hearne on 6:30 p.m., Friday.

“We can make the playoffs,” Edwards said. “But we’ll have to play our best basketball and hope for things we can’t control to fall our way.”
