The Lady Tigers are still playing at a high level this basketball season under the leadership of Head Coach Danielle Froggatt. They did suffer another loss recently in their game against the Brazos Christian High School. Their record is now 8-2.
T HORNDALE— The most recent victory was a road game against the neighboring Lady Dogs from Thorndale. The final score of this game was Rockdale 42, Thorndale 12.
The leading scorers in this game were senior guard Ciara Miles with a 22-point contribution and sophomore guard Trinity Hurd with six points.
BRAZOS CHRISTIAN— The most recent loss was at home against Brazos Christian High School 47-45. This was a tough game against a gritty private school. What ended as a loss was almost a late victory due to a surging Tiger-Fight-Never-Dies attitude.
With only two minutes left in this rough and tumble game the score was 43-43. The Lady Tigers then took the lead after sophomore guard Alli Lay went to the throw free line. The Eagles came back and tied the game at 45-45.
With just 17 seconds left junior guard Jazalle Dunn was fouled and went to the line but came up short going 0-2. Subsequently the Eagles scored and the final score was Brazos Christian Eagles 47, Rockdale Lady Tigers 45.
Standout players in this game were Ciara Miles who had 22 points, five rebounds, Trinity Hurd contributed eight points, had seven rebounds and eight steals and Alli Lay had seven points and three rebounds.
