The RHS volleyball team struggled this past week as they were defeated in both of their matchups.
The Lady Tigers began district play on Friday as they faced off against the No. 3 ranked Lexington Lady Eagles. The girls lost the game in three sets 9-25, 8-25 and 14-25. The Lady Tigers could not slow down the heavy hitters of the Lady Eagles, but fought hard. Halle and Haven Jimenez led the Lady Tigers with three kills each. Averie Hobbs led the team in digs with eight.
On Tuesday, the Lady Tigers faced the Caldwell Lady Hornets at home. The young ladies fell in four sets 17-25, 18-25, 25-22 and 16-25. The Lady Tigers showed great effort, but could not overcome big deficits in the first, second and fourth sets. Haven Jimenez led the Lady Tigers with 12 kills. Yoilianna Castillo led the team in assit with 18, while Emma Whitsel led team in digs with 18.
The Lady Tigers are now 7-5 on the season. They will look bounce back against the Florence Lady Buffaloes on Friday at home.
