Over the last week and a half, the Lady Tiger basketball team has been on a hot streak, earning three straight wins.

Most recently, the Blue-and-Gold ld put a 63-37 beat down on Lexington at their home court on Saturday.

Julie Bartsch led Rockdale with 27 points while Mijah Crawford scored 13.

Rockdale’s other victories leading up to this past weekend were a 49-46 victory over Cameron and a 45-40 victory over Rogers.

In the game with Rogers, Lady Tiger basketball had the opportunity to play in front of a full crowd due to it being “Lil’ Dribbler Appreciation Night,” where RHS athletics shined a light on the town’s youth basketball association.

Rockdale junior Saige Robertson described having the huge crowd as a “great environment” to play in.

SEASON—The Lady Tigers played their last game of the 2021-22 season at home against Caldwell on Tuesday after deadline. This was the final high school basketball game for Karli Marburger, Kyra Miles and Breanna Webb.

Missing Robertson and starting guard Ciara Miles for much of the season, the Lady Tigers struggled early on but have fought back late.

TIGERS—Rockdale trailed 40-18 at the close of the first half with Lexington but battled in the second half, losing 69-59.

Leading scorers for the Tigers were David Penny with 17 and Chris Perez with 12.

THIS WEEK—RHS hosts Academy on Friday and closes out the 2021-22 season in Florence on Tuesday. The Tigers are winless in district play.

Tip-off is 6:15 p.m.
