Going into the fourth quarter, the Lady Tigers led 38-30 over Florence, a team that beat them 42-40 in their December district opener.
However, the Blue-and-Gold had trouble hitting shots in the final quarter and a couple buckets from Florence’s DeKayla Salazar stopped RHS from getting their second district win Friday night at home, falling 46-41.
Rockdale also had three players that each had four fouls going into the fourth and as a result, Florence was able to capitalize on Rockdale’s top defenders playing safer defense in order to avoid fouling out of the game.
Mijah Crawford led the Lady Tigers with 17 points, in large part to 3 three-pointers in the first half. Ciara Miles scored 11.
TIGERS—Following the girls’ game, the Tigers had trouble against a big Florence team, losing 65-38.
Mason Willard led the Tigers with 14 points and David Penny had 7.
